Since 2013, Lodewijk has been working on the series Concrete Evidence, in which the material concrete forms the common thread. Indispensable in the current living environment and infrastructure, concrete is the most used and important building material of the 21st century. With Concrete Evidence, Lodewijk studies the material properties and cultural specificity of concrete.

During Artist in Residence, Lodewijk transformed the exhibition space of CC Zwaneberg into a laboratory where he continues his concrete studies. The artist opened the laboratory to visitors so that his experiments can be followed live. Artist in Residence changed and developed during the exhibition period, making the process of Concrete Evidence tangible.
